His main passion, however was being with his family and friends and he loved joking around. Don was a member of the Sidney Elks Lodge, the VFW and the Anna American Legion. He designed and built much of the house his wife still lives in. Don is also survived by his sister Anita (Denny) Barker of Sidney,OH.ĭon had a real zest for life and touched the lives of many people. Also surviving are Don's three grandchildren who were the light of his life, Craig, David and Lindsey Schwartz all of Anna, as well as a nephew, Tony (Kelli) Barker who was like a son and who held a special place in his heart. Don served in the US Army in the Honor Guard until he returned home and married Janet (Mathews) his loving wife of nearly 49 years who survives him and resides in Sidney.
